sort of the opposite side to this story
Nice short you have found there Isaac. This short is really interesting when I first started watching it, it felt like it was just a rip off the one man band with a twist. but I was wrong it is really interesting on the way he is a con artist. This is a good example for making a short an animation and not live action. Yes this short could of been done in live action but is much better executed in animation making the story more believable with the special effects.
Great find! I agree Josh, it did feel a little familiar but even without the unexpected ending, the entire story remained engaging. It became intriguing as to why the town had no interest in this amazing magician, but it soon became clear that was because he hadn't offered anything of value to the towns people. I thought the introduction of the protagonist set the basis up for the twist, as a viewer I felt sorry for him when he wasn't impressing anyone and when he finally conned the town I was satisfied with his achievement mainly because the towns people had used his talent for their own personal gain rather than entertainment. So I guess that was the great thing about the character, he was able to identify a flaw in the towns people - greed and he exploited that, making him clever and a much more interesting character.
